Harambee House is Working Virtually Leave a Comment Due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, the Harambee House, followed the lead of local government and altered it’s usual scheduling for the Environmental Careers Worker Training Program (ECWTP). It held a successful training on HazWoper and COVID-19 Cleaning Practices during the week of June 22 — 26, 2020. We are currently reassessing our other training modules to develop virtual methods of delivery. However, we are witnessing an increase in the number of coronavirus infections, hospitalizations and, tragically, deaths. We, therefore, will not entertain visits or meetings at the Harambee House until 2021! We take this action to adhere to the City of Savannah‘s efforts to reduce the spread of this infection, and for the public good. The Harambee House / Citizens for Environmental Justice believe the best way to protect our children in their school and college settings, safeguard all employees and businesses in the workplace, and re-engage our economy is to follow the medical and scientific advice provided by local and federal sources: Georgia Dept of Public Health (GA DPH), COVID-19|Coastal Health District, Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and National Institutes of Health (NIH).
