Dr. Sacoby Wilson and his Community Engagement Environmental Justice and Health (CEEJH) Lab team are reaching out to let you know about an upcoming research opportunity funded by the AARP Community Challenge program.
This study will strictly observe COVID-19 guidelines.
Our “My Block Counts” Project focuses on reducing the digital knowledge gap between older adults and younger populations while providing the opportunity for older adults to explore and better understand their natural and built environment.
The My Block Counts app is a community block assessment tool that allows users to survey the positive and negative features found on a neighborhood block using a smartphone, tablet, or computer. Training workshop participants will benefit from better understandings of navigating and using social media for community organizing around environmental health issues, and the built and social environments in local communities.
Participants will also receive an incentive for their participation.
If you are 50 years or older and are interested in participating in this project, please fill out the sign-up form linked here.
Our project manager, Joseph Galarraga, is available to respond to any questions or concerns.
