The CORE MPO is the transportation planning organization for the Savannah region. One of CORE’s functions is to create planning documents that facilitate local transportation. One important document CORE produces is The Metropolitan Transportation Plan. This plan details the future of transportation in the region over the next 25 years.

“The Coastal Region Metropolitan Planning Organization (CORE MPO) is developing the 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP). The MTP is a blueprint for creating a transportation system that meets mobility needs in Chatham, Bryan, and Effingham counties over the next 20+ years. It reflects the community’s long-term vision, establishes goals, and identifies strategies that are consistent with the priorities of the three-county Savannah metropolitan region.”
