Citizen Science Air Quality Monitoring Community Project
The Hudson Hill Community, Savannah, GA
Harambee House is working with the Environmental Justice (EJ) Working Group of the Hudson Hill Community on the use, maintenance and deployment of low-cost air quality monitors throughout their community. After meeting with the EPA Region 4 and the Harambee House on the EPA’s Near-Ports Community Initiative, the residents of the Hudson Hill community embarked on establishing a low-cost hyperlocal air quality monitoring (AQM) network within their community.
Harambee House is working with the Hudson Hill community to establish this network in partnership with the US EPA, City of Savannah, Office of Sustainability, GA Tech SMART Sea Level Sensor Project, Friends of the Earth, and with training from Dr. Sacoby Wilson, Community Engagement Environmental Justice & Health (CEEJH) Lab of the University of Maryland.
